The repetitive color blocks feel much smoother
I tested it on a large section of one blue color and that is where it really made sense. Once the drills were lined up inside, I could keep pressing and moving across the row instead of reaching back to the tray every few seconds. It took me a couple of minutes to get the angle right, but after that the rhythm felt very natural.
I did not realize how often I was stopping for wax
The biggest change for me was not having to press the tip into wax again and again. My table stayed cleaner and I could focus on the canvas. I still keep my regular pen nearby for tiny mixed-color areas, but this is the one I reach for when I have a long run of round drills.
I usually work on 60 cm and larger canvases, so the constant tray-to-canvas movement gets old quickly. Loading several drills at once does not make the pen place a whole row automatically, but it does remove a lot of those small interruptions. That is exactly what I wanted from it.
The first load was a little awkward because a few drills turned the wrong way. After practicing with a small leftover section, I learned to keep the pen level and the drills fed much more consistently. I would not use it for frequent color changes, but for organized same-color rows it saves a lot of back-and-forth.
I only started diamond painting a few months ago and was worried this would be complicated. It is basically load, press and place. Which drills does this pen work with?
It is designed specifically for standard 2.8 mm round drills.
It is not compatible with square drills or special-shaped drills,
so check the drill type on your kit before ordering.
How do I load and use the dispenser?
Load a line of round drills into the chamber, position the tip over
the correct symbol, then press to place one drill. Move to the next
position and repeat. A short practice section helps you find the
loading angle that feels most natural.
Do I still need to keep dipping the tip into wax?
No repeated wax dipping is needed for the dispensing action.
The mechanical design feeds the loaded round drills through the
tip, removing one of the most repetitive steps from the usual
point-by-point workflow.
How many drills does it hold, and how many are placed per press?
The chamber holds approximately 20 standard round drills, depending
on alignment. Each press places one drill—not an entire row. The
advantage is that several drills are already loaded, so you do not
need to return to the tray for every placement.
